In 1969, the Mannheim Heidelberg International Film Festival Annual Results Award category/winner Dusan Hanak won the award. A government official in Czechoslovakia mistakenly believed that he had cancer. He explained that the secret activities he participated in during the Stalin government doomed him to die of a terrible disease. When he feels guilty about his past illegal behavior, he seeks inner peace. This film won the grand prize at the Mannheim Film Festival in 1969. Slovak director Dusan Hanak was one of the smartest and most outstanding talents in the Czech film industry in the 1960s and 1970s, but due to censorship, this was not apparent until the late 1980s. Du Sang had an impact on the film industry with his auspicious debut work "322" (1969). Although it was not banned until 1988, it was ultimately released and won international acclaim, as well as the Grand Prize at the Mannheim Film Festival. Hanak's sophomore work, the documentary "Obrazy Stareho Sveta/Images of the Old World" (completed in 1972), was not released until 1988, and his 1980 film "Ja Milujem, Ty Milujes/I Love You, You Love" was also not released. Only Hanak's 1976 film "Ruzove Sny/Rose Tinted Dreams" passed the review and was released in a timely manner.
