山丘之王豆瓣

This film mainly describes the lives of the poor in the Great Depression when President Hover was still in office. Hundreds of thousands of citizens lived in suffering then. Basically, there are not too many climax or a whole consistent story in the film. It is more like the livelihood stories of a twelve-year-old boy Aaron Kurlander. He and his family was supposed to live in the St. Louis however they could not afford the living expense anymore. Aaron's mother was severely ill while his papa couldn't find a job. So his mother had to go to asylum for cure while his father has to send Aaron's younger brother to another relative's place and leave his little boy behind and went to another city for his new job. 這個孩子面對生活的機智堅強，對不靠譜的爸爸的隱忍，讓人佩服。從始至終，無論遇到什么令人崩潰的狀況，他總有一種泰山崩于前而不改色的冷靜。也不是沒崩潰過，自己一個人躲在旅館里，糧食耗盡，從雜志上剪下美食圖片沉醉的吃下，一個人躺在床上肚子痛的打滾，我也以為他要死了。結果又是一個人躺在冰冷的地板上。這是他像是滿血復活了，自己的憤怒總算是噴涌了出來，拿起爸爸曾經推銷的點不了的工藝蠟燭，狠狠的投擲，喊著“son of bitch”。
看完電影之后，我不在怨婦了。不再糾結自己不快樂的童年，抱怨父母不得當的教育方式，還有自己那所謂的心理陰影。是啊，為什么你不能擁有更好的生活，為什么你要擁有更好的生活?我之前是多么懦弱和膽怯的一個人啊。
