In 1868, with the help of a hunter named Modesto Cubillas, Marcelino Sanz de Sautuola y de la Pedrueca accidentally found Paleolithic paintings in Altamira Cave in Cantabria, northern Spain. In order to inform the academic community of their findings and allow them to study these paintings, Sotoola strongly opposes the skepticism and slander of all experts, claiming that these caves are fake and that these paintings were created for his own Sotoola with the aim of becoming rich. In order to find the truth, Sotoola spent the rest of his life trying to prove that these paintings were true, attempting to restore his innocence from the false accusations against him.
