George Peppard plays an energetic industrialist, which reminds people of Howard Hughes. When he made airplanes, directed movies, and was heartbroken, his friends and loved ones tried to come into contact with the sexual side of others and found it a difficult battle. The title of this movie metaphorically depicts self promoting tycoons who quickly make financial acquisitions, exercise authoritarian control over short-term profits, and then move towards greener pastures. Carpet porter is a garbage classic, and most people are embarrassed to admit that they liked it in the early 1960s. But this film adapted by Harold Robbins is so vulgar that it's hard not to have fun - especially considering that the portrait of Howard Hughes in the film center is almost undisguised. George Peppard plays the heel hero. He founded an airline company in the 1920s and bought a film studio in the 1930s, crushing friends and mistresses along the way. The high cheese factor is thanks to a good cast: Carroll Baker plays Peppard's spicy stepmother, Bob Cummings (very interesting) plays a cynical agent, Elizabeth Ashley marries Peppard on her debut - unusually, she is a good girl. A sad note is Alan Rudd, who in his final character, as a male cowboy star, looks and sounds extreme. Elmer Bernstein's swaggering score helped the game go smoothly.
