the beauty as it, is the simple and the functional of the design and as for me, the clever sparks derived from designers are the prettiest
at the same time, which is the potential difficulty every designer has to confront
although, no doubt, to recognize the basic problem from the surface then solve it properly is already back-breaking for everyone, it is not capable of becoming design yet. design, as above "solution", is its simple and obvious. since the simplifying of solution is equipped and the fact that it is as obvious as that people will cost zero effort on it, "solution" will evolve to "design".

在倫敦旅行，湊巧遇上，今天在Barbican Center看了這個片子終于。之前想去看一直，但都沒趕上分別在波士頓和紐約的首映。
電影跟我的預期不太一樣，看完后的感受跟當初第一次看Helvetica和Objectified時完全不一樣。片子不是單純說建筑，我一開始覺得他這片應該是重點采訪知名的建筑師和事務所，但不是。片子講城市化，建筑當然還是占很大比重的談，可片子不是單純只講建筑。導演的題材越拍越大了；從一種字體，到近幾年的產品設計，到講城市化。問題大了，線路就多。從采訪選人看，導演這次有加入了自己一定的出發點。紀錄片的感覺沒有像前兩部那么來的客觀和記敘性強。
整個片子是一個個城市的講下來，然后每個城市由采訪的對象來講述他們當初的構想和他們居住的感受。片中最喜歡的例子之一是丹麥：最靠里是自行車道，然后是停車道，然后才是機動車道；說這樣就是停車道保護騎自行車的行人而不是自行車總是擦到撞壞停泊的車輛。只是轉一下思路，一切都解決了。最好的設計永遠是可以自然而然解決問題的小動作。

半夜刷微博不經意看到的片子，想著要對城市化多點了解，拓展知識面，便看了。影片由很多個城市案例拼湊而成，相互之間感覺沒有關聯。
印象比較深刻的例子是讓社區居民參與到節電行動，并在公路上噴涂用電量變化圖；以及德國斯圖加特公民反對S21項目抗議行動。
印象深刻的話說，城市不在于它的人口有多少，而是有多少人駐足，流連于某處。差不多的話吧。

時隔七年再次觀看這部紀錄片，仍然感到非常驚異與感動。這是一部讓我大開眼界的紀錄片，開啟了我對紀錄片和城市規劃無盡的熱愛，不僅僅是因為影片中展示的非凡建筑，還因為城市規劃所蘊含的精妙的哲學、無盡的想象以及帶給我的感動和希望。
城市是現代生活的中心、是資本與公共利益的博弈場，也是一種現代性景觀；它一面活力無窮、激動人心，包容著多元的文化與藝術，一面卻喧鬧、擁擠，貧窮與犯罪在其中滋長；它不斷影響著人們的生活，同時又因為其高度的復雜性讓許多看似理所應當的設想變為適得其反的嘗試
