Sheila Hood is a former police officer whose marriage is in jeopardy. She did not confront her husband about extramarital affairs, but instead hid her surveillance camera at home to monitor his illegal behavior and became a voyeur in her own life. Her husband Tom Kale is an ornithologist who started an extramarital affair with his ex girlfriend Merle James, whose beauty and fragility are similar to the birds he studies. Ray Starling is the charming owner of a boutique hotel and Mel's lover. She has a relationship with her father James. James is a powerful oil tycoon who operates in secret, but his influence extends to the entire city. Mel's sister Hazel was also attracted to Tom, but was trapped in Starling's power network. Calvin is a police officer, and his loyalty to his former partner Hood was put to the test when more and more evidence in her own surveillance footage linked her to Tom and Starling's murder, and possibly even to Mel's mysterious death.
